What’s the point?

The point of this blog is to comment and document our life with this disease. There are good times and bad times. This is not going to be a constant downer – there will be moments of joy and triumph as well as moments of defeat and sadness. In time this will expand into a larger endeavor, but at present, this is where the story will begin.

I am the husband of an amazing woman who has been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Over the past few years I have watched her live in constant pain. There are “good” days and there are “bad” days. The difference between the two is the level of pain, not the cessation of. You see on the “good” days it means that the pain is tolerable, not gone. On “bad” days – Well imagine watching the person you love balled in the fetal position, crying,  and describing the pain she is experiencing in terms such as – itching and burning, broken glass, gnawing, or crushing. Now imagine that almost every day. Fybromyalgia has taken a Type A personality and placed it in a prison.

The title of the blog is a play on our names as well as a reference to the vertigo that sometimes over takes Fibromyalgia patients, hindering them even more. If you didn’t know, Fibromyalgia is more than just pain. Other possible symptoms are vertigo, short-term memory difficulties, insomnia, and what is called “fibro fog.”

All of this and more will be discussed here.

Thank you for your interest.
